She Is A Hero
I want the world to know a hero.
Her name is not famous, as deserved
For she was quiet and reserved
But should be renowned, I know.
For she faced the most terrible enemy,
She saw death just ahead.
She never complained or faltered, instead
She lived a quiet dignity.
She is the person I admire most,
She is the strongest of the brave,
And knowing she could not be saved
She fought the unbeatable ghost.
If love could have saved her then
We surely would have pulled her back
But watched her go into the black,
We wept for what was, and might have been.
We want no medals given, or speeches heard,
Just loving mother and dear wife.
No wrong did she, but lost her life,
Now justice is a foreign word.
She is the greatest hero, and we will not forget
The way she stayed with stubborn pride
And kept the worst known fear inside,
She showed me what a noble spirit is.
