Robert Pruett
Martha "Patsy" Knapp
Robert Pruett was born 25 December, 1791, near Richmond, Virginia (Mason County).
Martha Knapp was born 12 September, 1797 near Lexington, Kentucky.
They were married 7 September, 1812, in Mason County, Virginia. In 1839 he purchased 280 acres of land in Sections 21 and 28, Kinmundy Township. In 1855 he purchased an additional 160 acres in Section 10, Alma Township. Sometime after 1850 he re-settled in Schulyer County, Illinois, visiting back and forth between the two counties.

Robert Pruett served in the War of 1812, and in 1851, filed for a second Bounty Land Warrant from Marion County. Martha died 20 October, 1855. Robert remarried Mrs. Lydia Johnson, a widow, on 27 May, 1858. Robert died 7 January, 1860, from a kick from a horse. Robert and Martha are both buried at Davenport Cemetery, Schulyer County, Illinois.
